REVISING THE IMO NOx TECHNICAL CODE: TIME FOR REAL EMISSION TRANSPARENCY 🚢 🌍

Danfoss IXA has submitted our input to the ongoing revision of the IMO NOx Technical Code.

Despite strict NOx limits in Emission Control Areas, including coastal waters near Denmark, the expected reductions in real-world NOx emissions from ships have not been achieved.

One key reason is clear: NOx is still not measured directly during operation. Compliance today largely relies on engine certification and assumptions – not on what actually comes out of the exhaust.

👉 Danfoss IXA therefore proposes mandatory continuous NOx emission monitoring as a central measure to address the current shortcomings of IMO NOx regulation.
